There’s plenty of franchises that should return. Well, perhaps should is a strong word in some cases. We only need to look at Golden Axe: Beast Rider as an example that some things are better left alone. While it could have been good if approached properly, it’s ultimate fate was a rather abysmal hack n’ slash. But if handled correctly, there are plenty of gaming franchises that could see a worthwhile return to gaming. At the top of the pile, for me at least, is Streets of Rage.

During development Fighting Force was originally intended to be Streets of Rage 4. Despite it being re-worked into a new IP it still retains some of what made Streets of Rage great but walks a tightrope when presenting that action on a 3D plane which tends to make game play a little sluggish.
