A mysterious (and possibly fake) teaser trailer has surfaced on GameTrailers for Moby Dick Studio’s “The Phantom Pain” and as bizarre and random as it seems at an entry level, it may be providing the strongest evidence yet that “The Phantom Pain” has something to do with the greater Metal Gear Solid universe....

THQ will unveil their newest addition to the Red Faction franchise tomorrow night in the next episode of GGTV. Tomorrow night’s episode is already a busy one with the exclusive first gameplay footage of Crysis 2, F.3.E.R and Vanquish to be revealed also. Sounds like a great reason to stay in on a Friday night.

With all the legal rambling, walkouts and respawning going on between Activision and Infinity Ward, you’d nearly forget that locked away in an office somewhere in the States are Treyarch hard at work at the next Call of Duty game that millions of us will probably buy on day one of release. But what will we be buying? Well we’re going to find out this Friday becuase Geoff Keighley has tonight tweeted that GGTV will reveal Treyarch’s new Call of Duty exclusivly on the show.

“This Friday’s GTTV on Spike will feature the world premiere of the next CALL OF DUTY.”

Exciting stuff. Thanks Geoff. We’re jealous of your job.

Sony’s Suprise Sequel Is SOCOM 4!

Sony’s surpise sequel is SOCOM 4. The game has been announced tonight via the EU Playstation Blog. Development is being handled by original franchise developers Zipper Interactive. The first footage of the game will be shown on GTTV tomorrow morning. The game will take place in South East Asia where;

“a revolutionary army has seized control of a country bordering one of the world’s most vital waterways threatening to disrupt he global economy.”

The game will feature 32 Online Mulitplayer.

“Your mission is to step into the well-worn boots of the Ops Com, a NATO Operations Commander of an elite, five-man squad. You must venture deep into inhospitable jungles, city streets and crumbling urban ruins to engage an army of rebel fighters and discover their plans.Although you’re vastly outnumbered, you’re armed with the latest weaponry and your men are second to none – but do you possess the stealth, speed and tactical thinking to lead them to victory? Time is not on your side: you have just six days to complete your mission. To emerge victorious, you must lead from the front, maintain control of the situation and fight with sheer intensity.”

Platinum Games will announce their new game this week!

Platinum Games, the studio behind franchises such as Mad World and more recently Bayonetta, will announce their new game this week on Gametrailers GTTV.

Geoff Keighley, presenter of GTTV, tweeted the following tonight;

“This week on GTTV — global announcement of next title from Platinum Games inside the show!”

So what could their new game be? Recently Platinum Games have openly discussed how they would be interested in doing Mad World 2 or perhaps even creating a spin off from Bayonetta. But at this early stage, your guess is as good as mine as to what this is going to be. When we hear the announcement, we’ll post it.
