Recently, Cliff Bleszinski was on The Jimmy Fallon Show showing off some Gears of War 3 footage. Questioned by Fallon about the franchise, Bleszinski hinted at life after Gears of War 3.
While at a recent EA press event, we had a chance to sit down with Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski and People Can Fly founder Adrian Chmielarz to chat about their forthcoming FPS collaboration Bulletstorm. Here’s how we got on;

So when someone called Cliff Bleszinski asked a question, you know the replay from the Old Spice guy is going to be strange.

The gaming world has gone Gears mad since last night’s formal announcement of Gears of War 3. Cliff Bleszinski has in his own way become the official voice of the Gears franchise and he has assured fans that the third Gears game will push the 360 hardware to new extremes.
In an interview with Spanish site Meristation, Cliffy is adamant that real time Gears 3 footage (when it emerges) will not only be awesome but will showcase a game pushing it’s parent console all the way.
“I assure you that when you see the realtime gameplay of Gears 3, it looks very very great and even better than Gears of War 2, yeah we’re pushing it (Xbox 360)”
We’d personally like to see how far the Unreal Engine has come and how Epic Games are going to make the updated engine shine in Gears 3.
We knew it was coming and last night Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski did us all a favour and formally announced Gears of War 3. Along with the annonucement, Cliff showed off a debut trailer subtitleed ‘Ashes To Ashes’ and we have it here below for you to watch. Not much in terms of story or gameplay has been revealed as of yet although Epic has been giving clues that it will come with four player co-op. The game is set for an April 2011 release.

Are you really that suprised? With Cliff Bleszinski saying he has something to announce and then delaying the announcement, it comes as no suprise that someone at Microsoft decided to put us all out of our misery and update the dashboard if only for a few minutes to confirm Gears of War 3
Yep, it’s true. Cliff Bleszinski will be revealing a brand new game on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on April 8th. Cliff is of course the design director of Gears Of War and Gears Of War 2 with Epic Games.
Fallon himself tweeted the following tonight:

Could this be Gears of War 3 or something else entirely? Either way, were going to be very interested in what Cliff has to say. If it is Gears 3 then Epic have picked a rather random forum to reveal it. Thats Gears 3 April revealed rumour Edge ran last month dosen’t seem to stupid now eh?
