The guys over at VG247 have managed to get their hands on what appears to be casting call for the next Call of Duty. ‘Call of Duty 7′ will of course be handled by Treyarch this time out and although the casting call makes reference to operations in Vietnam, after close inspection of the casting call document, we here at TGL are going to suggest that, this wont just be a ‘Vietnam War’ themed game. In fact the game, could be more of a ‘Cold War’ themed affair.
The casting call is looking for “voice over/motion capture” for a “video game” by Activison. The character Frank Barnes is decribed as being part of an elite Vietnam unit know as the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam-Studies and Observations Group. The call looks for four actors in total. While references to Vietnam are very real and tangible, the call also looks fora female spy Kristina Ivanova, who speaks English and Russian and “has a network of contacts behind the iron curtain”.
What does this all mean? Well, maybe, suggestions of a Vietnam themed Call Of Duty are only half right. The game could have a much wider scope and could possibly encompass much more of the ideology and conflict synonymous with the cold war era. But then again, we could be totally wrong. What to you think?
