PLATINUM GAMES has released a new Bayonetta 2 video. The video, released with the Nintendo Direct event today, shows the game’s development, as well as speaking to some of the team about what we can expect. Hit play and see what you think. ...
Didn’t you hear? Bayonetta 2 is the real deal. But there’s a catch, it’s not coming to Xbox 360 or PS3 like the original; it’s exclusive to Wii U. As you can imagine, a lot of people are none to happy with PLATINUMGAMES’ deal with Nintendo and in an effort to curb the criticism being thrown at them, PLATINUM has responded to concerns relating to Bayonetta 2′s Wii U exclusivity. PLATINUM want fans of the original to not feel alienated by the move to a single platform.
Nintendo has finally got around to detailing Wii U’s international launch and to add to the excitment, they’ve only just gone and announced that PLATINUMGAMES will be brining Bayonetta 2 exclusively to Nintendo’s new system with Ninty acting as publisher.
PLATINUMGAMES director Hideki Kamiya wants to make Bayonetta 2, but not before he makes Viewtiful Joe 3 it would seem.
It is being reported this evening that SEGA’s ongoing financial difficulties has forced the publisher to put an immediate stop to the development of Bayonetta 2.
It looks like SEGA and Platinum Games are on the cusp of revealing a sequel to last year’s trigger happy witch-athon Bayonetta.
Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya has been mentioning something called ‘Bayonetta 2′ on twitter.
When asked a string of questions relating to a possible sequel appearing at next year’s Tokyo Games Show , Kimiya simply replied with a ‘You’ll see’.
Then when asked if we will see any DLC in Bayonetta, Kimiya replied with a ‘Perhaps in Bayonetta2′. Subtle.
Expect the lid to be lifted off Bayonetta 2 sooner than you think.
If your like me then you were more perplexed by Bayonetta then you were impressed by it. Now developer Platinum Games are dropping the biggest hints yet that a sequel could well be on the cards.
Platinum’s Co-founder Atsushi Inaba told Eurogamer that the dev team “would love” to make Bayonetta 2 “when the time is right”.
“There is no concrete plan or schedule that we can talk about,” Inaba told Eurogamer. “It’s not like Kamiya said, ‘Okay, we’re going to make this. But Bayonetta is definitely a special IP for us. We loved creating that game. We think it was a really good game.We would love to make a sequel to it when the time is right. That’s all we can say.”

Platinum Games, the studio behind franchises such as Mad World and more recently Bayonetta, will announce their new game this week on Gametrailers GTTV.
Geoff Keighley, presenter of GTTV, tweeted the following tonight;
“This week on GTTV — global announcement of next title from Platinum Games inside the show!”
So what could their new game be? Recently Platinum Games have openly discussed how they would be interested in doing Mad World 2 or perhaps even creating a spin off from Bayonetta. But at this early stage, your guess is as good as mine as to what this is going to be. When we hear the announcement, we’ll post it.
