Oh gees…
According to the Mirror (cough), video games are causing cancer to develop in children:

Seriously, do people read this garbage and believe it? Without questioning/thinking about it?

Don't tickle with your fingers, smash with your fistJanuary 8, 2013 at 2:38 pm #65877Yeah of course they read it, journalists never lie!
I don’t really mind this sort of stuff that much any more (apart from the really extreme garbage from the likes of Fox News), if you’re that dense to read or listen to stuff like this and believe it and then wilfully criticise the medium with such little knowledge on it then you’re not worth any gamer’s time or thoughts.
I actually read a pretty nice story related to gaming for once today though: http://n4g.com/news/1150603/mother-minecraft-helped-my-9-year-old-son-with-aspergers-to-read-and-write
Even some people in the Comments section have more similar stories.

I want his face.....off.January 25, 2013 at 11:17 pm #66712Didn’t know where else to put this, but did anyone see or read Prince Harry’s comments about his time with the army and how he mentioned gaming?
The Prince, who has completed his four-month tour as an Apache attack helicopter gunner, was matter-of-fact about killing people, saying: “Lots of people have.”
The 28-year-old flew on scores of missions with his finger on the trigger of the helicopter’s rockets, missiles and 30mm cannon.
“Take a life to save a live,” he shrugged. “That’s what we revolve around, I suppose. If there’s people trying to do bad stuff to our guys, then we’ll take them out of the game, I suppose.
“The squadron’s been out here. Everyone’s fired a certain amount.
He said he had come under fire, adding: “Yes, you get shot at. But if the guys who are doing the same job as us are being shot at on the ground, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with us being shot at as well.”
He also credited his effectiveness as an Apache gunner to his skill at playing video games. “It’s a joy for me because I’m one of those people who loves playing PlayStation and Xbox, so with my thumbs I like to think that I’m probably quite useful,” he said. This is the type of stuff that gives gamers and gaming a bad rep in the media.
