Sonic 4, the long awaited “true” sequel gamers have been waiting for, has finally been priced and dated. Here’s the info directly from Sega themselves.
-The game will be available for download on the iTunes App Store starting Oct. 7, the Wii Shop Channel on Oct. 11 (15th Oct in EMEA territories), the PlayStation Network on Oct. 12 in America (Oct 13th in EMEA territories), and Xbox Live Arcade on Oct. 13 across all territories.

Atari is bringing back its classic Atari 2600 title Haunted House to XBLA and Wii this September. No PSN version is planned. There will also be a PC version.

This new title “pays homage” to the original classic 2D game. Here’s the description from the game’s website.

How awesome is this? Interplay has announced that they are to revive the MDK franchise by re-releasing 2000′s Dreamcast/Playstation2 and PC shoot’em up MDK2. The game will be coming to Wiiware in early 2011. They’ve also announced a HD remake of the game for PC. The remakes will be handled by Beamdog.

I wonder if said HD remake will every make it’s way to PSN or XBLA? How about an MDK3? Who knows, either way, MDK is a brilliant franchise that deserves to be played all over again. This is great news. Go Interplay. Here’s the PR of the announcement.

Ah, poor Sonic. The little blue guy can’t catch a break. Having been subject to some really miserable games for the last number of years, Sega seemed to have finally got things right with the announcement of Sonic 4, the first true Sonic sequel in many years and a game that lends more to his 2D legacy then his rather forgettable 3D incarnations.

Now, even though a new 2D Sonic is on the way, people are still skeptical and now it appears that someone has leaked the majority if not all of the game’s entire soundtrack on the web. Ouch!

Here’s a bunch of new Sonic The Hedgehog 4 screens courtesy of an update the Sonic 4 website. The screens show of the Splash Hills Zone. The site is also offering an MP3 download of the Splash Hll Zone theme. We’ve also learned a few more interesting facts on Dr. Eggman:

Phoenix Wright’s long awaited debut on the Wii has been moved up by Capcom to February 15th. It’ll set you back 1,000 Wii Points on WiiWare.

Here’s the debut trailer for Capcom and Rock Man 10’s highly anticipated Mega Man 10 for XBLA, PSN and WiiWare. Now the trailer is in Japanese so I hope that won’t put you off pressing play. Expect this to drop in March 2010. As soon as we find an English trailer, we’ll post it.

Japanese Magazine Famitsu has revealed that Capcom’s Mega Man 10 is going to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. The game had previously been announced as a WiiWare title and this jump to XBL and PSN has come as something of a surprise. No other information really exists at this time but as soon as we hear something we will post it.

Only one virtual console release this week, the rather random Alex Kidd in Shinobi World. Don’t all rush at once to buy it folks. Chapter 4 of Tales of Monkey Island is available on WiiWare as is Rubik’s Puzzle Galaxy: RUSH. Here’s the full list of releases.

The Japanese really do make the funniest ads. Check out this one for Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney on WiiWare. It’s indicatively Japanese and we love it. No real concrete news yet on this Ace Attorney making an appearance on Western Wiis yet but as soon as we hear something, we will yet you know. In the mean time enjoy the ad and wish you were a member of this family.

TGL have to say that we were initially underwhelmed when we saw these screens. The annoucement that Phoenix Wright was to break free from the DS to the Wii was a big news for fans of the game. However is looks like its going to be nothing more than a port of the DS game, which is fine, we suppose. No fancy HD remake here! One can imagine that Capcom and Nintendo will play around with textures and resolutions abit so as to make the game look better when its on your big TV screen. What do you think? Yep, it looks like DS point and click favorite, Phoenix Wright is going to make his debut on Wii pretty soon. The German USK rating system has today revealed that the title will soon be available on Wiiware. But the specific details are scare. The guys over at GamerBytes have revealed this news and they are suggesting that since the game appears on a rating system without a prior announcement, it’ll probably be a digital release, hence Wiiware. Hopefully, Phoenix Wright appears on the Wii sooner rather than later. If the game does see a release, it’ll be Capcom’s first Wiiware game since Mega man 9. We’ll keep you posted.
