The final day of our “We Are” initiative kicks off with Simple Lifeforms. The team at Simple Lifeforms have always caught our interest due to an impressive work ethic, so we had a chance to sit down with them and discuss everything from this approach to the industry, what they’re currently working on and just what, if any, changes they’d make to the Irish sector to improve indigenous growth.

Pixel Wolf Studios are on the cusp of releasing their debut title, so it was with great excitement TGL sat down with the dev team and spoke everything from the inspirations for said titles, the Irish scene and what, going forward, you might need if you plan on joining the industry.

NeverMind Games generated a lot of interest in previous years due to their “WiiKick” design. Allowing players to imitate an action, only to see it performed on the screen, was something quite fresh at the time. We decided to chat with the team about the idea, working in the Irish scene and what’s next for NeverMind Games.

Memods are next to join the “We Are” initiative. Their “infinity” design caught the attention of the internet when their development video went viral. Sitting down with the team, we had a chance to ask them about that design, the creation of the company itself and what the future holds for Memods.

Havok is arguably one of the most recognisable names in the industry. Providing an unparallelled standard of physics for the industry, the company also offers realistic destruction models, boasts high-end AI packages and much more. Conceived in Trinity College Dublin, Havok has gone on to become an essential element to hundreds of titles.

The next addition to the “We Are” initiative is actually based in retail. Competing with stiff competition found abroad, Gamesnash offers Irish games a quick and home-grown solution to shopping for their titles. We recently sat down with the guys from Gamesnash to talk business, pre-owned titles and what changes could be made to improve growth in Ireland.

With the first day of our initiative proving to be a hit, we now move on to day 2 with excitement! Eyesodic Games are first this time around, and they had some very interesting things to say about setting up the studio, the benefits of providing free content for games and much more.

The next team in our “We Are” initiative is bitSmith Games. Currently working on their debut title “Ku”, TGL had the chance to speak with the team recently and talk about everything the development of “Ku”, the gaming scene in Ireland and the future of bitSmith Games.
