Earlier this evening, it was reported that Sony had let all associated trademarks to SCEJ’s The Last Guardian essentially lapse. As such, many feared that this could well be the final nail in the coffin for the troubled project, with cancellation now a very real possibility. However, TSA are tonight reporting that a number of US based journalists are taking to Twitter to confirm that there’s no need for panic, with Sony assuring them that the project has not been canned. Phew….
Sony will however, almost certainly need to re-apply to the trademark commission for an extention to “The Last Guardian” name.
Hopefully Sony will provide official comment on this issue shortly.
