A handful of pioneering Facebook GENIUSES have started a LIKE petition page calling for EA Sports, developers of the mega popular FIFA, NHL, Tiger Woods and MADDEN sports series, to register some kind of interest in developing a GAA title.
The page, which looks to have been started only yesterday, has already generated nearly 2,000+ odd LIKES (as we write this) in less than 24 hours, with more LIKES being accounted for by the second. This is going viral and it’ going viral fast.
Now, while GAA 13 (or any EA developed GAA game for that matter) is almost certainly not going to happen anytime soon (ANYTIME!), there’s no harm in EA knowing that there’s a definite interest in such a game on these shores. In 2005 and 2007 respectively, Australian based studio Transmission Games, actually produced three GAA games for Sony’s PlayStation 2 in Gaelic Games: Football 1 & 2 and Gaelic Games: Hurling. Each title sold pretty well, despite being poorly received by critics and gamers alike.
Give these guys a LIKE on Facebook. At the very least, they’ve made us all smile. Congrats to them. We’re going to send this to our colleagues at EA first thing Monday morning and ask them to comment.
LIKE TheGamingLiberty HERE on Facebook and if and when EA provide comment, we’ll let you know.
