Microsoft has recently aquired the rights to a number of domains – two of which could point to next-gen.
The domains were secured in a dispute against a resident in China named “Cheng Juan”. As fusible points out, the URLs cover many of avenues the firm is clearly interested in yet, the final two domains aren’t so clear:
- XboxPhone.com
- XboxTablet.com
- XboxLiveTV.com
- XboxCompanion.com
- Xbox8.us
- Xbox8.org
Both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 are on the horizon, so is this simply name securing by Microsoft? Is there a planned support bridge between the console and new phone/operating system named “Xbox 8″ that we simply don’t know about? Could this be something to do with the next Xbox?
The waiting game goes on.
