In keeping with frustrating tradition, Nintendo will release a revised XL version of the 3DS next month in all territories. The 3DS XL will be available in Europe from July 28th.

The biggest difference between this and the current iteration of 3DS is the upper screen. 3DS XL sees a 90% upper screen size increase. You’ll also get about 6 and a half hours out of it’s battery on a full charge.

Europeans will be able to choose between blue, red or silver and it should retail at no more than €199.99.

For some completely stupid reason, the European model WON’T ship with an AC adapter. You will have to buy this seperately! If you have a charger from your original 3DS, you can use that. But if you’re a first time buyer, you’ll have to fork out for an adapter from the get go. The mind boggles.

More info on this as we get it.
