Valve has confirmed the recent rumour that suggested Overkill was working on a Left 4 Dead prequel, is simply not true.
Speaking with PCGamesN at E3, Valve’s Chet Faliszek confirmed that while there is currently some collaborative work between the two companies, a Left 4 Dead prequel is not what to expect:
“Again. I don’t want to give it away, because we want the community to explore and find it, but I want to make sure that people don’t think the prequel is coming.”
Faliszek, although denying the rumours, did elude to the game being some type of co-op outing:
“We were hanging out with the Payday guys, we were talking about how we all love co-op games. ‘Hey we love co-op games, you love co-op games, why aren’t more people making co-op games. These are super awesome. You’re smart guys, let’s do something together.”
Guess we’ll know more sooner than later.
