It is with heavy hearts that we bring you news of the death of distinguished Japanese voice actor and performer Takeshi Aono, best known for his work as Colonel Roy Campbell in the Metal Gear Solid series.
Aono-san passed away yesterday April 9th after a prolonged illness. He was 75.
Aono-san voiced Campbell in the original Metal Gear Solid, as well as sequels 2 and 4. He also voiced Russian scientist Alexandr Granin in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
TGL extends it’s sincerest sympathies to Aono’s family and friends. The Metal Gear Solid family just lost one of it’s most important brothers.
