Quinton Flynn, the voice of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance’s main protagonist Raiden, has tweeted that, among other things, he has been working with actor Phil LaMarr on an unspecified project. Metal Gear fans will know Phil LaMarr as the voice of Raiden’s would be primary antagonist in the series, Vamp. So therefore, we ask the question, are Raiden and Vamp working together on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance?

Now, we could be just clutching at straws here and this is nothing more than just guess work and speculation on our behalf BUT given that Quinton tweeted last weekend that he was working on a project with actors John Cygan (Solidus Snake), Cristina Pucelli (Sunny Gurlukovich) and Kris Zimmerman (Metal Gear series voice director), it strikes us just a little TOO coincidental that Raiden, Solidus, Sunny, Vamp and their director are all working together on some kind of a project at the same time. Now, given that certain combinations of these characters have already been killed off in the greater Metal Gear series to this point, you may think that it would be impossible for characters like Vamp and Solidus to return. You’d be right. But given how much weight they hold in relation to Raiden’s greater story context, these characters could feature as part of a flashback or a reflective sequence or something like that. Or maybe Solidus and Vamp are back from the dead? This is Metal Gear we’re talking about. No one ever really dies. Liquid Snake and the arm? Big Boss? Hello? Hideo Kojima himself was boasting on twitter last year that he had recently just brought a character back to life for example.

Alternatively we could be completely wrong and maybe all these guys are just working together on something completely different like Metal Gear Solid: The Musical or something like that.

Either way, we’ll soon find out just what the story is with Rising. Revengeance will “Make It Right” with a new trailer this Monday. Stay tuned.
