Microsoft has announced a sequel to Kinect Joy Ride in Joy Ride Turbo. That’s not exactly surprising. What is surprising is that MS has decided to ditch the Kinect functionality that all but defined the original game.

Joy Ride Turbo is pitched as “controller-based” arcade racer that offers “precision handling”. It will include three different game modes in Battle Race, Pro Race and Time Trial. All in all there’s, 42 vehicles to unlock, eight player online racing and four player local split-screen. Certain tracks from Kinect Joy Ride will return, as well as some new additions.

It’s coming soon, quite soon in fact, and might just launch in the next couple of weeks. Time to pick up the controller again.

Thanks Eurogamer.
