Insomniac’s Ted Price has reiterated that despite the company deciding to move away from the Resistance franchise, the series is not dead and will continue to spawn future games.
“It doesn’t mean the Resistance franchise isn’t continuing,” the CEO told fans in a video address (see below).
“It’s already in the capable hands of Nihilistic and with Sony’s shepherding it will continue to live on and expand. We’re excited, as fanboys, to see where it goes.”
Price continued by saying, “A question we’ve gotten a lot through the forums and emails is ‘why?’. Well, we believe Resistance has reached the logical conclusion in terms of the story we wanted to tell.”
Nihilistic will bering Resistance to Playstation Vita later this year with Resistance: Burning Skies. As for Insomniac, their prepping for the release of their first multiplatform title, Overstrike.
