GameInformer are reporting that Alexandre Amancio, the creative director of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, has left Ubisoft for Cossette.
Cossette, a marketing company based in Quebec, will now house the ex-Assassin’s Creed dev as their co-chief creative officer for its Montreal office. Releasing a statement, via the official Cossette website, Amancio said that the gaming industry must “take into account and supply a very important social dimension in its development and strategies”:
“Video games and advertising have many common elements. In both industries, we are always looking for new ways to engage the consumer to the brand. In addition, like advertising, the video game industry must now take into account and supply a very important social dimension in its development and strategies. The game is no longer just a game, it’s a community, relations between players, and the brand”.
Ubisoft, when asked, declined to comment on the news.
Thanks, GI
