Earlier this week, we here at TGL caught up with Richard Lemarchand, co-lead designer on Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and while our interview was very much focused on beloved intrepid treasure rouge Nathan Drake and his latest adventure, we couldn’t help but pick Richard’s brains on another franchise he worked on long before he joined Naughty Dog. I’m talking about you Legacy of Kain.

Richard actually worked on three Legacy of Kain games before moving to Naughty Dog. As an employee of Crystal Dynamics for nearly a decade, he worked on both Soul Reaver games, as well as Legacy of Kain: Defiance. We asked Richard about his work on LOK and if he thinks there’s anything to be said for a return to the franchise. As it happens, he’d love to see a new LOK game get released at some point.

“Well, as you might know, Amy Hennig, the creative director at Naughty Dog and I worked together on the Soul Reaver series. She invited me onto the team when I was a younger game designer. We had an amazing time working on those games. I think we both learned a tremendous amount about working with making action games and storytelling games from those games. I dare say we both cut our teeth on Soul Reaver. It was an amazing series and I really love the Soul Reaver games to this day. I would love to see them come back at some point.”

Richard’s latest project, Uncharted 3 releases November 1st. Check out our full interview with Richard here.
