It took them a couple of months but EA and Criterion have finally got round to confirming the existence of/and announcing that Burnout: Crash is real is is coming this Autumn.

Criterion Games are as ever in charge of the franchise but this Burnout is a little different from what you’ve come to expect. Crash is a top down downloadable version of Crash Mode that was first introduced in Burnout 3: Takedown.

“Burnout Crash is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows,” said Richard Franke, Creative Director on Crash. “We’ve evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform.”

It’s heading to XBLA and PSN this Autumn. It was announced at EA’s Summer Showcase this evening. Expect more EA announcements to filter out over the course of the evening.
