I’m no fan of this installing business after after this post you may even say enough is enough. VG247 are reporting that the Gran Turismo 5 install is a whooping 6.4 GB and takes roughly 50 minutes to complete. Sony released a statement on the matter:
“GT5 gives users the option of an install. This makes loading times throughout much faster but is not a requirement when first playing.
If users choose not to install the data straight away it will do it in stages as news areas, tracks etc are accessed during normal game play.”
Noting also that it’s optional, this will make a lot of fans cry in sheer terror after ripping off the plastic of one of the world’s most anticipated titles – only to wait 50 more minutes. No thanks.
Cleverly worded. Optional when you first play it, seems like it becomes mandatory over time.
50 minutes? What the hell, a good number of Xbox games are 6GB and over when you install them and that has never taken more than 5 minutes to complete…
