ID Software legend John Carmack has been talking about DOOM 4 and has told the Official Playstation Magazine UK that the game may well arrive into our lives sooner than you think.
Carmack told OPM that DOOM 4 wont take as long to bring to retail as current project RAGE, which seems to be in development for an eternity.
“Well we’ve got Doom 4 going on right now below our feet here,” Carmack said.
“The Doom team are all sped up and working on this technology base – I’m not really at liberty to discuss much about it, but it’s going full steam ahead right now.
He added: “It shouldn’t take as long to ship as Rage. It’s already in the pipeline and we feel good about it.”
RAGE will release in 2001. As for DOOM 4, who knows? Lets pray for a QuakeCon 2010 announcement.
