In an interesting interview with Edge, Conviction’s creatve Deirector Max Beland has gone on to say that “there’s no reason why Splinter Cell couldn’t be on the PS3″. Talking openly about the franchise, Max states that due to a binding contract with Microsoft, Conviction wouldn’t be on the PS3 but that’s not to say that future titles wouldn’t be.

“[The next game] is open to new deals,” he added. “If Microsoft wants an exclusivity deal, they don’t call me, it’s Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] dealing with the business people. But yeah, I guess we could even be a PS3 exclusive if there’s a deal that makes people happy there.”

Interesting stuff. For the sake of all the PS3 fans, I do hope this is true as Splinter Cell is a game that has to be played to be fully appreciated. We look forward to more news as it comes!
