UBI

Ouch Ubisoft! What happened?! The company today announced the specific details of its sales figures for the first half of the 2009 to 2010 fiscal year. And it makes for a difficult read. All in all, Ubisoft have seen a drop in sales by over 50%.

The drop is particularly brash when you look at some of Ubisoft’s figures from previous years. For example in the first half first of 2008 to 2009 sales were €344 million. Impressive. However, just one year later sales have dropped to €166 million, that’s a 52% decline.

Ok, all things considered, it sounds a bit depressing. But Ubisoft are surely on the cusp of putting things right in this final half of the year. With titles such Avatar and a certain Assassin’s Creed 2 on shelves in a matter of weeks, things can only get better for Ubisoft. Something tells me, that they haven’t been the only ones to suffer such high loses in the first part of this year.
