Major Nelson has announced that the “variety” map pack for Call of Duty 4 on the xbox 360 is half price this week in an effort to snag anybody that is willing to buy maps that will essentially turn into a ghost town come the 11th. The variety map will be slashed for 800 MS points down to 400. But for those interested here’s the details as quoted by xbox.com:
“The Variety Map Pack includes four new multiplayer maps featuring a variety of locations. “Creek,” a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death; “Broadcast,” fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots; “Chinatown,” a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city; and “Killhouse,” featuring a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points!”
Although a lot of people will be unhappy at this news as it seems to be just another way to milk us, a lot of people will be chuffed as there are some people, yes I said some, that plan to boycott MW2 over allegations of “hosted server” issues, gross mis-conduct and 3 seperate “rip-off” edition/prices. We here at TGL are pumped for MW2 and will not be boycotting it. See you on the 11th people!
