The Site Gizmondo has released some of it’s exclusive interview with Steve Balmer and Steve went on to mention “Well I don’t know if we need to put Blu-ray in there-you’ll be able to get Blu-ray drives as accessories”. This is great news for those who own the xbox 360. At the start of the HD-DVD/Bluray war, Microsoft put its chips behind HD-DVD and Sony went with Bluray… Well we all know who won that fight and Bluray really is the true wiiner with glorious definition like never seen before. All those who own a 360 but wanted Bluray movies might now have the news they have been waiting to hear for some years now.
He then added “I think mostly the future of movies is on-demand, actually, as opposed to distribution via physical media, So we’re just gonna keep driving forward and try to make it the best entertainment — overall entertainment, not just gaming, but overall entertainment experience we can.”
I myself won’t be buying this as my PS3 doubles as my Bluray…which I don’t use as much as I should but to most this is very welcome news!
